This is a clip from a South African talk show that is highlighting some additional cultural faux pas that are not mentioned in the book.

Topic 3: Human Enhancement

The video below is a TED Talk done by a man with prosthetic legs.  You can watch this video to get a deeper understanding about this topic, which we will discuss in class.

Topic 4: World of Food

This video shows more examples of exotic food which can kill including Fugu, mentioned in the book.  The purpose of this is to give students more interesting ideas to discuss and share in class.

Topic 5: Legacy of Ancient Civilizations

This video from Discovery News shows an interview with a scientist who is studying what happens in the minds of people who have near-death experiences.  Watch this to gain some additional ideas for the in-class discussion about the afterlife.

Topic 6: The Root of Fear

Here is a video that summarizes the "Little Albert" experiment in more detail.  Watch this video to get a deeper understanding of conditioned fear and consider the discussion questions.

Topic 7: Public Service Announcements

This is an example of a PSA made by the British National Health Services.  Watch this video to get ideas for the brainstorming activity at the end of the lesson.

Topic 8: Extraterrestrial Intelligence

This is a TEDx presentation done by a scientist who is discussing the probability of alien life.  Watch this presentation to get a deeper understanding of the topic, which will be discussed in class.

Topic 9: Ultimate Vacations

This video shows "The Cage of Death" featured at the end of the article for this topic.  This video's narrator uses an Australian accent.

Topic 10: Making Utopia

This is the video that is referred to at the beginning of the article for this topic.  Watch this to get a deeper understanding of "Richland" and how satire is used to criticize meritocracy.
