Media & Culture is a listening and speaking curriculum designed for English Language Learners who wish to expand their speaking and listening skills by gaining a deep understanding of the English-speaking world through both language and culture. Each book has 30 lessons focused on a variety of topics and audio/video media, including TED talks, movie clips, TV series and news media. Teachers can use this curriculum to help students build vocabulary and colloquialisms by listening to spoken language in use and then expressing their own ideas through discussion, games and speaking activities included in each lesson.
Beginner Level Book
Media & Culture Beginner is a textbook with 30 lessons focused on helping students build vocabulary, grammar and useful phrases through exposure to a variety of media including American TV series, Youtube videos, and movie clips to generate topics for discussion.

About the Author:
Brian Devine is an American educator who has been teaching and developing English education curriculums since 2005. During his time pursuing a master’s degree in education at Seattle University, he became a Washington State certified teacher in English Language Arts and Social Studies. He taught in the Seattle Public School district and in an ESL program associated with Seattle Pacific University. In 2010, he took a position as a Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at an international school in South Korea where he became a specialist in curriculum design and a leader in blending traditional educational methods with modern technology. He is also the co-founder of One World Language, an online platform that provides language learning curriculum.
